Listing boats
Boat photo guidelines
Every photo is reviewed before it appears on a listing. These are the rules our reviewers apply — follow them and your photos are approved quickly.
What can be in the photo
- Only a single boat can be present in the photo.
- The boat in the photo must be the boat listed.
- It must be a real boat displayed in the photo — no artistic renderings or AI generated images.
- No persons can be in the photo.
- No club or owner information can be displayed (i.e. logos, names, etc.) unless the information is physically attached to the hull of the boat.
- The photo must be appropriate to be displayed publicly.
Quality
- The photo should not be blurry. Objects in the background can be blurred out, but the boat should be clear.
- Cannot be a duplicate photo or a photo that does not show any additional details than other uploaded photos.
What your set of photos must show
- At least one photo uploaded should show the name of the boat attached to the hull.
- If possible, the HID (Hull Identification Number / Serial Number) should appear in at least one photo.
- Any existing damage to the hull or parts should be displayed in at least one image (scratches, holes, dents, missing parts, etc.).
- The parts / hardware displayed in the photos must be available in the rental (i.e. if the shoes change, new photos should be uploaded to reflect it).
Rights and approval
- The user uploading the photo must have permission to share the image with Regatta Connect, and Regatta Connect may use the image on our website, social media, and marketing materials for the platform.
- All photos are subject to approval by Regatta Connect staff and can be rejected for any reason.
After you upload
Photos show as pending until reviewed. If one is rejected you'll get an email with the reason and can upload a replacement; rejected photos are never shown to renters. The first approved photo becomes the listing's main image — you can change which one from the boat's page.
